Newsflash: Drum machines do have soul. Miami DJs Eddie Alexander and Pablo Ferreira have conjured the spirits inside these machines to make us dance.
The interesting thing about the track "DV8" is that while it can be defined as progressive house, whether you like a more soulful sound or tribal is more your speed, "DV8" delivers.
For some reason, it reminds me of this sinister track by Dennis Ferrer called "Black Man in Space." Both tracks build in crescendo to the point where the funky break takes over the song. The pingy DV8 piano break that makes up the heart of the track sounds like something cosmic. There is a Dominican in space and he won't deviate his mission to make you get down.
