Within less than two years of winning the 2005 Latin American Music Conference (LAMC) Battle of the Bands, New York electro-Latin duo, Pacha Massive has released a sensational first effort with "All Good Things."
The 15-track debut album landed #1 on iTunes Latin Alternative chart, just a day after its release. It's evident that the musical chemistry between Nova (keys, guitar, writer) and Maya (bass/writer) have steered them toward a solid writing team with an infectious sound.
The first track "Don't Let Go," which was featured in the soundtrack to the Mexican film La Mujer de Mi Hermano, is a cool danceable song underlined with Nova’s raps.
Pacha Massive has reached the next level of Latin music, going beyond the realms of alternative, funk, reggae and electronica.
"Prende La Luz," is a great example of this thick sound that is ingrained with Nova's Dominican and Maya's Colombian background.
The intoxicating vocals, by Leila Colom on "Pachangueando" and Yasi Baby on "Oye Mira," are other elements that fill each song with a beautiful richness. Letha Francis on "Your Love" is another track that is subtly sexy.
Their music flows easily in an urban Latino hip-hop groove ― a sound that is rarely executed well. Pacha Massive has mastered that sound with an easygoing vibe that is ultramodern, yet slightly retro-funk.
