The big homie Tego Calderón cancelled his May 24th concert in NY due to shady business dealings. He was set to perform at the Paradise Theater but because One World Entertainment didn't comply with the initial agreement the show was cancelled. We spoke to El Abayarde yesterday; read his side of the story below.
"It was an inconvenience where [One World Entertainment] changed the date on me. Initially the concert was for April and they changed it to May," said Calderon. "The clauses in agreement were clear that if there was to be a change there would be a penalty. So they changed the date but we didn't penalize them for it. I was just charging them my fee and not the penalty. I decided to cancel it because when you do an event and they don't honor the agreement, I've already had experiences with the actual show going bad."
He continued: "I love to perform in New York. Due to the economy the concerts I've been presented lately aren't that attractive. But the New York date was very attractive. I liked the way they presented the event to me but it turned from water to salt quickly. I'd love to perform in New York even if it's a smaller venue like a club. My New York fans are my lungs."
Damn, even reggaetoneros are feeling this economy dip. While the Big Apple waits for another Tego concert he'll be hitting the cities and countries below.
June 6: Peru w/ Daddy Yankee, Sean Paul
June 7: Chile w/ La Mala Rodriguez, Sean Paul
