palabras RODRIGO SALAZAR
Angelina Jolie's new action flick Wanted is a thrill a minute joy ride through a non-sensical plot. Thankfully, you are not here for the plot, you are here for the stunts and sexy shots of Angelina and Wanted definitely delivers there (I would have liked even more sexy shots of Angelina, however).
Would you believe a fabric loom that runs by itself produces pieces of cotton that, when decoded, reveal who the next assassination target is? Yeah, me neither. When Sloane (Morgan Freeman) tries to explain the code to Wesley Gibson (James McAvoy), I could feel the crowd emit a collective "huh?" A movie about pieces of fabric that are decoded needs to have crazy action and stunts in order to work. And Wanted works.
Wesley Gibson is an anonymous 9 to 5 robot with nothing going for him (he googles himself constantly, and never finds any entries). All of a sudden, he is thrown into the middle of a war between assassins, one of which happens to be his father. Wesley's father was a master killer, and with the help of Fox (Jolie), he will also become an assassin.
The action begins at the pharmacy, where Wesley is picking up his anti-anxiety medication. All of a sudden, Fox is standing right next to him, whispering to him that his life is in danger.
Wesley's training regiment is brutal and ultra violent. But little by little, he starts exhibiting the skills that will make him a master killer like daddy.
The stunts and the CGI in Wanted more than make up for the plot. My question is, where do they take this series for the inevitable sequel? The ending does not leave many directions for the story to go in. Regardless, you will definitely enjoy this one.
