palabras LINDA RIPOLL
Fall forward into a fashionable season of oversized snuggle worthy sweaters, menswear inspired prints and massive bags. This Fall it's all about being opulent without being ostentatious. There's no need to represent with over the top designer logos, this season wear your love of luxury in an understated way and gain your rightful place at the top of the fashion forward heap. Follow these steps and watch your style status rise!
1) Snuggle Ready Sweaters and Knits
One of the biggest trends to hit the Fall ’06 runways was oversized sweaters that look cozy enough to sleep in let alone prance along the urban terrain. A great way to keep things warm without looking worn out, these larger than life sweaters and knits are perfect when assembled with leggings, tights or form fitting jeans for a look that is anything but dowdy.
2) Gender Imbalance - Menswear Inspired prints
Dressing up in your man's favorite button down is no longer something relegated to the bedroom. This Fall, there are several menswear inspired prints and styles that are cut, crafted and created solely with a woman's curves in mind. From houndstooth print skirts to high waisted pinstripe pants, your look goes from girly to GQ in ten seconds flat! Watch out men, here we come!
3) Power Dressing - The New Suit
Suits have always been a classic item, but this season they have been given a glamorous overhaul that beautifully reflects the changing mood in today's workplace. Gone are the stiff squared shouldered pantsuits of yesteryear, replaced with sexy streamlined silhouettes, belted suit jackets and sensual pencil skirts that add much flair to the professional look of today’s modern woman.

4) Get a Leg Up on the Competition - Leggings and Tights
The 80’s never looked better with classic leggings and tights taking over all Fall runways. Easy to wear and great for cold days when you can’t bear to bare those legs, leggings and tights are more than just accessories, they are their own look. From opaque to striped to patterned to plain, every woman should own at least two or three pairs. Heat up those cold nights in some sexy leggings or tempting tights!
5) Dresses, dresses and more dresses
From the dramatic gowns to retro inspired wrap dresses, there were more than enough dresses to keep the feminine fashion set very happy. The one item every line seemed to make sure was prominent was the little black dress that just never quits! From couture to simple and sophisticated, there was a dress perfect for every taste, style and preference. To have at least one dress in your wardrobe this Fall will be a serious necessity.
6) Fall's Color Palette- Black, White, Gray, Red
Fall is always thought of as a time of change from the shifting of the weather to the turning of the foliage. With summer’s brights taking a bow and Fall’s somber hues stepping forward, it might be difficult for some to swallow so much serious color. The best way to approach this season’s palette is to think sophisticated, sophisticated, sophisticated. From jet black to charcoal grey, monochromatic or mix and match, get your color fix by adding a dash of sass with bright, colorful accessories.

7) Short Stuff
Gauchos and knickers are still making strong headway in the world of Fall Fashion. There is nothing boyish about these flirty shorts- they look their best when worn with a wide belt and heels. When they stop above the knee they are knickers, when they stop above the mid-thigh they are shorts. Just pair with form-fitting top or a button down blouse and fitted vest for a look that’s too cute for work and perfectly suitable for play!
8) Worldwide - Wide Belt
Worn tight around the waist, the wide belt is perfect for a woman who embraces her God given curves and wears them for the world to appreciate. Everywhere you turned there were coats, dresses, skirts and jackets accented with cinched wide belts, giving them a classic 40's appeal without taking a trip down memory lane. This look is great for anyone ready to accentuate what Mother Nature has given her- all natural curves!
9) Cover Up But Don’t Conceal - Vests
Vests are the perfect add-on to a look that needs a little something extra. For a pulled together look this Fall that’s neither glam or sporty, invest in a a signature vest. In chocolate brown or maybe even a floral pattern, this simple silhouette blends perfectly from desk to dinner and beyond.
10) Bountiful Bags, Beautiful Boots and Gorgeous Gloves
A girl can never have too many big, beautiful accessories and this Fall there is more than enough to make the most particular fashionista happy. From oversized totes so you can carry your entire life to slouchy leather boots that channel 80’s pop stars, there are a myriad of ways to wear your astronomical accessories without looking too overdone. Don’t pair too many large accessories at once or run the risk of looking like a bag lady. Keep it simple and just rock the large bag with a simple, sleek understated silhouette and you can’t go wrong. One piece at a time!
