Bunker Bar - For a city that worships beer as much as—if not more—it does the Queen, London is home to surprisingly few micro-breweries. That helps account for the overwhelming popularity of this German-styled bierhall, where massive copper beer tanks all but scream, “Go on, jump in. You know you want to.” Bünker is a fitting name for this sprawling subterranean hangout, where party-minded visitors do their ‘wurst” at large wooden tables with pew-like seating. Though the wine and cocktail lists are respectable, it’s really all about the brew here, with gems like Freedom (regular and organic) and Red Soho on draft. The bar also offers an excellent reason to cut out of work early: Five meals—including wild boar sausages and bratwurst—are just a fiver each until 5pm. Your boss will understand.
