May Restaurant and Lounge - Located in the Wallingford district of Seattle, this Thai restaurant with a downstairs lounge is constructed from the wood of an authentic teak house built in Thailand. The kitchen presses its own coconut milk and imports many ingredients directly from Thailand to add authenticity to their menu. Their signature dish, Phad Thai, is made from tamarind instead of ketchup as is more common in local Thai restaurants. Their dimly-lit ornate bar has been blessed by Buddhist monks. Happy hour is featured twice daily (from 5pm to 7pm and from 11pm to 1am) with half-priced drinks and special menu items. Try their signature drink, Ginger Mandarin Fiasco.
