Suco Lounge Montreal, Venue Description

Montreal residents are known for a refined clubbing attitude that allows them to reign over the nightlife scene and demand club culture that adheres to a high scale aesthetic. Nestled within the hot boutique hotel Opus, Suco is nothing short of this, aptly taking note of the necessary ingredients to develop a superior drinking experience. Alas, here we have a good thing. The newest installment to Montreal’s nightlife empire is generating serious buzz along the Saint-Laurent strip. Simply stated, Suco can be described by two words: classy & cool. Just in time to kick off the M for Montreal festivities with guests like Melissa Auf der Mar and Krief, the space offers a bold and stylish space designed for laid-back individuals looking to enjoy a premium evening of stylish drinking on the town. Suco is a resto-lounge separated into three sections; the mezzanine boasts comfortable furnishings (i.e. chairs and couches you formerly only witnessed at high-end design boutiques) and a small bar for those looking for a quiet, social drink before hitting the town. The lounge/bar area is a large spacious room, fit for roughly 100 people, with beautiful steel sculptures, divans and a massive marble bar (trust me – you cannot miss the bar). Finally, the VIP section is separated and appropriately darkened to conceal the drunken identities of Montreal’s finest attendees and hotel visitors (though they may argue they’re above getting drunk). With low mood lighting from dozens of tea candles, vase-shaped wicker floor lamps and tinted mirrors behind the bar (all the better to hid the wrinkles), the ambiance comforts visitors as they can settle into an evening accompanied with exquisite drinks and savory tapas. The Trilogy of Prawns for $15 is delicious and beautifully presented (each prawn is served upside-down in a shot glass with a dipping sauce at the bottom!). In addition, no foray into tapas-land would be complete without Bruschetta, served on top of a balsamic coulis and experiments with olive tapenade, gruyere cheese and prosciutto for $12.
