The Fillmore is a well established landmark in San Francisco which originally opened in 1912. The Fillmore includes a restaurant, bar and nightclub. Prior to 1966, San Francisco’s Fillmore Auditorium was used as a venue for the soul music scene. Bill Graham, believing their was a strong demand for weekend rock concerts, acquired a lease on the building in early 1966 and rapidly established the Fillmore’s reputation as a cutting-edge venue for top rock and blues acts, like Otis Redding, Cream, and The Yardbirds, as well as for the top local bands like the Jefferson Airplane. Today, the refurbished Fillmore, its historic, intimate atmosphere fully intact, is still a must-play venue for top music acts, and as popular as ever. This is definitely the place to be for live shows!
