Element - A former bank, Goth den and strip club, the pre-Element incarnations have seen their fair share of upper- and lower-crust sleaze. In its latest rebirth, this 10,000sf giant has resurfaced as the latest club messiah to hit the crossland of the LES and East Village. The DJ line-up caters to both the post-punk/electro hipsterati and the soulful, funkalicious househeads. In either case, Element revives a vibrant history many New Yorkers seem to have forgotten.
