The Conga Room- This famous establishment is owned by superstars Jimmy Smits, Jennifer Lopez, Paul Rodriguez, and Sheila E. It's known for its dazzling architecture, blending elements of Barcelona, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Alex Garcia, Conga Room's Executive Chef, is also celebrated for putting Calle Ocho and Babalu on the map in New York City. Having swept onto the LA social scene in 1998, the Conga Room hosted record launches, movie debuts, award shows, and parties, including the 2001 Latin Grammy Award Presentation. Top Latin legends, such as Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, the Buena Vista Social Club, Shakira, Juanes, and Carlos Santana have all performed here. After closing its original doors, the Conga Room reopened in December 2008 as part of L.A. LIVE, the new downtown entertainment district. It’s still widely known today for its unforgettable live performances and mouthwatering Latin dishes.
