Cielo has set a new level in New York nightlife by going back to basics: the best DJs on the planet, a strong door, impeccable service, stunning decor and lighting, and a sound system which will blow the most fastidious audiophile's socks off.

the best
This is the best club in the city if what you care about is dancing, music, and a diverse crowd. The dance floor is arranged in a really clever way that encourages everybody to dance. The crowd is so diverse and interesting and the music and staff and setting are incredible. The door crew are great, real human beings you can talk to before they judge whether to let you in or not (try it!)--as long as you are there for dancing/music and not to cause trouble you will get in and you will have a great time.

CAN U SAY BULLSH*T?
I USED to love Cielo BUT the last experience I had there was s#*! . I had a meetup event that I planned for weeks and I had nothing but DRAMA at the door. It's a long story I would rather not get into, so the short version is the "head of security" wanted me searched AGAIN AFTER I got into the club. He was prob a f@#% pervert that can't get laid so he got his rocks off on feeling girls. Meanwhile I wrote a letter to Mr. Matar (the owner) about what happened....no response. Big shock there. These clubs need to stop hiring wannabe NYPD that didn't make the force. The lack of professionalism is just unbelievable. If i'm paying YOUR bills then you better be kissing my ass. The city SUCKS now...not what it used to be. It's a shame. MORAL OF THE STORY: DON'T GO TO CIELO....DRAMA LIKE THE REST OF 'EM.

So much fun
I came up from South Beach and went to Cielo last night, and had a great time. I left NY ten years ago for Miami, but always preferred NY clubs. It was great to come in and see a busy Tuesday night that was all house music. The space is just big enough, and has a garden for smoking, so there wasn't the usual 're-entry' stamp crap most of us smokers get. Everyone was dancing for the most part, the vibe was fun, I definitely recommend this club.

Long Live Cielo
Cielo is the absolute best place to have a good time in the city and hear great music. The crowd is impeccable and the sound system is on point. The employees are great and know how to handle the place. Some people might take it as being (@$* but all they are doing is trying to guarantee that everyone inside has the best time and don't have to worry about any crap. Word of advice...shorten the groups...get there early...come with women...dress nice and have fun!

mr.
this klb13's review couldn't be further from the truth. it sounds to me like you agreed to something and got cold feet when you got to the door and thought everything was ok. i've been going to Cielo for 5 years and no matter who was at the door, they were always consistent by not letting in large groups, single guys or the unsavory type (not sure which of these three groups he/she was in). keep supporting true house music and long live the iron gate door at CIELO. and for klb13, maybe Brother Jimmy's uptown is more your style. get the swamp bucket with 20 straws if you can't handle NYC clubs anymore.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER
I had emailed a week in advance about the night I wanted to have my 25th birthday party at Cielo. I informed them there would be 10 people there and we were interested in a table. "Shu de Jong" emailed me back and said $390 a bottle, minimum 3 bottles if we wanted a table. I said this was a little steep for me, so we wanted to know if we just went and didn't get a table, was there a guest list for the cover charge. He said no. Never mentioning that it would be bottle service only that night if we wanted admission into the club. I arrive to Cielo at 1030 on the night of my birthday party and the bouncers claim there is a private party going on until 1130. This is fine and we go to Buddha bar for some drinks in the meantime. We come back and stand in line for an HOUR and once we get the front, the bouncer says we can only be let in if we purchase at least 3 bottles ($390x3) and we are taken aback. The bouncer continues to yell at us until we "step aside". As I am upset, the bouncers continue to yell at us and tell us we can't even stand in front of the club while we figure out what we are going to do now. "Shu du jong", who I had been emailing earlier in the week, comes up and says he has us down for three bottles and a table! We never asked for that!!!! Cielo may be claimed as a great NYC club, but I will NEVER EVER go back there ever again. The customer service is horrific and it's nothing but some overly confident too hot on themselves jerks who are rude and treat others who don't want to drop thousands of dollars at their establishment as peons. You are so much better off going to any other club in the city- Cielo is a waste of your time and hard earned money.
