Webster Hall New York, Venue Description

Webster Hall-- The oldest club in town was revamped. It all starts as soon as one treks down 11th Street, heading toward the main doors, where you'll see the deep stairwell-to-nowhere is now an entry point, dressed with a nifty neon sign directing you to "The Studio”-- an intimate area designed to hold about 300 while bands and DJs play a buffer of alt rock/ electronic that does justice to the modern sound of New York rock. The Marlin Room is still only a few steps away, and here you find even more updated fun–like new furniture and a new bar that has shifted toward the rear. Where once turntablists were forced to spin from that tiny raised space in the wall, now those who man the Mac are set up near the doorway that accesses the main entrance. Head up the stairs (with the stairwell now encompassed by plasma screens featuring cool deco-visions) and pass through the still-undefined lounge/ bar area to the Grand Ballroom that still looks...familiar. However, the backwall DJ booth has also been ripped out as the selector now permanently holds fort on the large stage, with that gigantic movie/TV screen still in place. Finally, the upstairs balcony still offers all the trappings of a VIP area–sweeping view, a separate room–but the story will remain the same, as this upper deck will remain mostly open to all, with little velvet-rope pretention.

THE BEST EVER
Is actually agreat club if you're not seeking for a friendship or a date, is a place where You go hang out rather than associate, however is fun because ladies get here night for free on thursdays. The club is totally trippy if you decide to take a hallucinogen. You go there and you dont really no where to dance because all the music of different varieties is there techno, pop, hip hop, reggae, trance, rock, reggaeton, salsa and merengue...i completely crash this clubb all da time, is always something weird going on.

Overall good experience...
Just went there this weekend on a friday. The wait on the line wasn't too long and the place inside is pretty nice too. 3 floors of music and so on. Anyway, my only gripe in this place would be that this place seems to attract girls who are just 18, or 19. They all just huddle up and dance within their own group of girlfriends.
I guess i understand that girls don't need guys to have fun at a club but they should at least dance once in a while with someone else and give guys a chance. Heck, they even turned down some navy guys but w/e. Me and my buddy had fun anyway and stayed all night long. My advice for guys would be to either bring a date with you, or a group of friends which include guys and girls. Good music though, cant complain about that.

The Circus At Webster Hall 05302009
The Circus at Webster Hall, is just Advertising to get ppl to come, wherefore, there wasn't really alot of Circus going on... 4 floors to dance... 3rd Floor LATIN, 2nd Floor TEchno/TrAnCe, 1st floor HipHop/R&B TOP 40, and Basement Alternative POP/TECHNO/ROCK. But with all these floors, none of them where really converted to a "Carnival" Atmosphere. Only a small corner dedicated to a smelly Noodle stand, a VOLTAN fortune telling machine, and a guy creating cheap parlor tricks with cards. In additon, the only acrobatics that could be seen, were only for 2, very short (7min TOPS) shows that occurred at 1AM and 230AM. [:(] Oh, and lets not forget the '1' clown that just sold glow stix and lights. Overall, webster hall is still the best for average drink prices and dancing...
