This year's categories will be the following: 2009 Best Rock/Pop Newbee is an artist in the rock or pop genre that is new to the USA4real community and has been accepted for Upstream Radio. Artist has a kick ass sound and shows talent early on in their career. 2009 Best Hip-Hop/R&B Newbee is a hip-hop or R&B artist that is new to the USA4real community and has been accepted for Upstream Radio. Artist has multiple talents and shows promise early on in their career 2009 Best LIVE Performance is judged based on the artist's ability to entertain on stage above and beyond what we can hear on their album. 2009 Best Indie Music Video is based upon overall artistic impression and the ability to convey a message using the visual medium in addition to the music itself to tell a story. 2009 Most Promising Indie Artist The Most Promising Artist is chosen based on the "IT" factor. This artist possesses the total package: talent, marketability, and desire to be successful. 2009 Indie Hip-hop/R&B Single of the Year is the song from the hip-hop/R&B genre that inspires and catches the ears, hearts, and minds of our listeners. Generous ratings from Upstream listeners never hurt and will help the cause. 2009 Indie Rock/Pop Single of the Year is the song from the rock/pop genre that inspires and catches the ears, hearts, and minds of our listeners. Generous ratings from Upstream listeners never hurt and will help the cause. 2009 Indie Rock/Pop Album of the Year will go to the rock/pop artist that presents their music in one perfect collection from beginning to end. 2009 Indie Hip-Hop/R&B Album of the Year will go to the hip-hop/R&B artist that presents their music in one perfect collection from beginning to end. 2009 USA4real Artist of the Year will go to the artist that has been a USA4real artist for at least six months and has shown great strides in their career toward becoming a success. This artist has also received top ratings from Upstream Radio listeners. (Submissions closed.
