Frosty and refreshing, can the tantalizing thirst quencher of summer, known as the red-fleshed, slurpable watermelon, have a place in our cocktails for fall? We just started October, but there’s an overabundance of this fruit, making it the perfect opportunity to savor them on cool autumn nights. For this week, we’re making use of juicy leftover watermelons with a bubbly drink that’ll light up happy hour. The Watermelon Fizz not only features the sweet as honey treat, but it also includes a touch of savory lime and specks of bold cilantro, the ideal herb to give any concoction some heat without adding overpowering jalapenos. For the gents who’re worried about sipping this bubblegum pink elixir in public, have no fear. The Watermelon Fizz’s primary ingredient is bone-chilling, smooth as silk tequila, ensuring even the most skeptical social drinker that watermelons can be savored any time of the year, especially when good ol’ fashion alcohol is involved.
