The 8th Cine Fest Petrobras Brasil is back and ready to showcase some of the finest movies from Brazil. Taking place between June 5th-June 12th at Manhattan’s Tribeca Cinemas, new dates for 2010’s closing night film and special performance at Summerstage in Central Park have been announced. Before you can get out the Havaianas, we found out what the festival has in store for attendees this year.
For the next seven days and nights in New York City, one of the most exciting cinematic events from Brazil have plenty to offer. In addition to premiering various highly praised films to the public, Cine Fest Petrobras Brasil will also host an exclusive reception complete with caipirinhas and a special guest Brazilian DJ taking over a Brazilian-themed bash. Many of the filmmakers and cast members will also be in town to participate in Q&A sessions with viewers. Plus, the closing night will seal the deal with a concert at Summerstage in Central Park featuring world-famous rockeros Paralamas Do Sucesso and Maria Gadu.
As Cine Fest Petrobras Brasil celebrates its 50th anniversary, the festival will pay homage to Brazil’s capital city Brasilia like never before. Tribeca Cinemas will also debut an exhibition to showcase the growth of the nation.
