One of the biggest trends of 2009 in the world of beauty and pop culture were celebrity fragrances. From Diddy to Derek Jeter, anyone who’s anyone has a perfume or cologne out in stores nationwide. As the year comes to an end, Chicago-based Euromonitor International conducted research on the top celebrity scents of the year and their results are glowing for some.
Although Diddy’s I Am King sold out in 16 minutes on HSN when it debuted this year, it’s Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor's White Diamonds, which was first released in 1991, that continues to be a favorite among shoppers. Diddy came nearly halfway to Taylor’s $48.5 profit with a cool $20 million.
Other scent-sational stars that made the cut include Latinos Jennifer Lopez and Antonio Banderas, who beat Lopez with $18.8 in sales over her $18.5.
Speaking of Lopez, have you read our take on Sunkissed Glow? If not, check it out here and see whether it makes a perfect belated gift or not.
