Last night "Gossip Girl’s" Joanna Garcia hosted Gen Art’s 15th Anniversary “Fresh Faces in Fashion” show at the Metropolitan Pavilion. Garcia provided exactly what the show was looking for, a fresh face in stylish clothes. The rising star was wearing Vicente Villarin, who just happened to be one of the featured designers. The show showcased the debuts of 7 emerging womenswear and menswear designers.
As fashion shows are usually known for celeb-sightings, MTV’s “Downtown Girls” were also at the scene in their finest attire. Later in the night, the girls, along with plenty others headed to Pranna for the after party.
What is New York Fashion Week really all about?
For the last week New York has been invaded by even more celebrities than usual in honor of Fashion Week. Streets were closed off and events were planned around these special sightings. For stars like Lindsay Lohan, Keira Knightley, and Victoria Beckham had front row seats for most of the shows. Jennifer Lopez showed her face at the Marc Jacobs show and Jessica Alba made an appearance at Narciso Rodriguez. Instead of sitting front row, "Gossip Girl" star Taylor Momsen took the stage during Teen Vogue Fashion’s Night Out fashion show in a racy ensemble inspired by the movie Risky Business.
Then of course there are the stars that actually have fashion lines being featured at the shows. Gwen Stefani teamed up with Vogue empress, Anna Wintour, at Bloomingdale’s Fashion Night Out. Earlier in the day Gwen was showing off her styling’s at the L.A.M.B. fashion show.
