It’s finally here everyone. That’s right, the weekend we’ve all been waiting for after we wrapped up Memorial Day weekend…Labor Day weekend. If you’re looking for a great party on Thursday night, then head over the South Beach’s most exclusive nightlife venue, SET. They’re bringing in a bit of a curveball booking, Steve Aoki, but this guy always brings a lot of energy to his gigs, and SET will definitely appreciate that. The crowd may look a bit younger than usual, but with the tough door at SET, expect there to be no slips. The set will primarily be mash-ups and electro sounds, so if you’re not a fan you may want to have a plan B on this night.

Saturday night they’re bringing in Serge Devant to keep the crowd alive. His signature house tracks will go over well at Gryphon, and especially since it’s Labor Day weekend. If you haven’t heard anything from this DJ/Producer, we suggest googling him now to see what he’s like. You really don’t need an acquired taste for his sound, so long as you have some soul and can move you feet, you’ll be just fine and dandy.

This is our favorite pick for Labor Day weekend. The Vagabond surprised us all and booked to stellar EDM talents in the form of Audiofly and Heidi! Last Winter Music Conference we were lucky enough to catch Adiofly’s set at Studio K for the Get Physical party, and they performed what was arguably one of the best sets of Conference. The DJ/Production duo will love the décor at Back Door Bamby, and don’t expect them to hold anything back from their sound. This room is perfect for them and Heidi, so there’s going to be nothing but stellar grooves playing the entire night. We’ll go ahead and play fortuneteller for a second…they’ll definitely be back for more in a matter of a couple of months.

What’s a Labor Day weekend in Miami, without having Mansion bring in one of the biggest names in electronic dance music. That’s right people, Mansion is bringing back Roger Sanchez for their main event this Labor Day weekend. Every time that he takes over the decks at this venue, there’s a line down Washington Avenue with herds of fans waiting patiently to get inside. But if you hadn’t already bought your ticket, chances are you won’t get inside, considering that his show sells out before the doors even open up. This is definitely the biggest party in South Beach for Labor Day weekend, so it has to get a thumbs up from us.

If there’s one name that frequents Club Space and always does well, it has to be Boris. So, naturally, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. That has to be the philosophy over at Space because for their highly anticipated Labor Day weekend event, they’re bringing in Boris to serve up all the sound on the legendary Terrace. But that’s only for the sunrise set. Starting off the midnight set will be Markus Schulz, who’s also well known in Miami. These two should be enough for the infamous venue to sell out, but the question is, will anyone else on 11th Street provide Space with competition?

If there’s one thing that we know, it’s that if there’s a big holiday in Miami, Steve Angello will not miss out on it. That’s why he’ll be heading up the festivities with his music at SET on Saturday night. He’ll jump on the booth, grab the microphone, yell a few things here and there, and even though you may hate it, every single woman in the venue will be dancing and prancing around with a smile on their face…which then makes the men do the same thing. His music may not be your favorite, but man, the guy sure knows how to throw one hell of party. This place will sell out before the doors even creep open.

Soulful house isn’t a genre of music that just anyone can play. You really have to have a fine tuned ear in order to have a crowd really go wild for it. That’s why when Gryphon decided to bring in someone to serve up some soulful house, they brought in the best of the best in the U.S., Kaskade. Although on most weekends nightlife fans decide to stay in on Sunday nights, this isn’t your typical weekend. Expect Gryphon to be slammed with people wanting to party the night away. Even if you’re not a fan of soulful house, you can definitely expect the venue to be slammed.

If there’s one party that’s to compete with Space on 11th Street for Labor Day weekend, it’s at Nocturnal. But, they were smart enough to schedule it a day after Space’s. On Sunday September 6th Nocturnal Miami and Principal Danger team up for Skool, a party which will transform each of Nocturnal’s three rooms into a classroom for students to dance in. There’s the Chemistry Lab, with DJs Mikehouse, Seasunz, Alex M & Masf and many more. Then there’s Detention and ESOL, with FLO, CX, Fame, Shalomar, Molina and many more. It’s one hell of a concept, but seeing as the names on the roster won’t be familiar to everyone, the turnout should be interesting.
