While for many artists the fall of their record company means grim business for them, that doesn’t happen to be the case for Miami-based rapper Pitbull. Yes, we’ve all heard his tracks in the club on every hip hop night of the week, and now it looks like his success will sky rocket even more. Last year TVT Records, whom Pitbull signed with in 2004, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, but this created a chance for the rapper to break free from them and show everyone how successful he could actually be. In the last year he’s already released a track with Lil Jon, Krazy, that reached No. 30 on the Billboard Hot 100, and released a one-off with Ultra Records with “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho).”

The track made it as high as No. 2 on the Hot 100 this past June, and has sold 1.7 million downloads. But it’s only going to get better as September 1st he releases his album, titled Rebelution, in conjunction with RCA Music Group and his own label, Mr. 305. Let’s see how successful that album does for him on his first independent shot.
