Ever heard of Sweetface? Not too many people have either and we doubt this cutesy label will garner any major media attention after this.
Jennifer Lopez decided to halt production of Sweetface, a urban-inspired clothing line that originally launched in 2003. Before you can roll your eyes and wonder why anyone should be worried about Lopez losing any of her millions, do keep in mind that the diva from the Bronx has been very unlucky in the fashion department.
While Lopez courageously chose to expand her talents by starting her celebrity fashion line JLO in 2001, it didn’t garner the type of attention that made No Doubt’s Gwen Stefani an icon. Lopez then decided to close JLO in the U.S. and distribute it only in other countries. She then decided to premiere justsweet, which also failed after being available for only a few seasons. After that, she launched Sweetface and while it did pull in $200 million, the line soon became history.
Even though fans may see a revival of Sweetface "in the near future with new messaging points and an entirely new fashion point of view," we doubt that J. Lo’s reign on the runways will ever exist again.
At least she has her music career…right?
