Summer is all about blockbuster hits and fortunately, we’re going to see more Latinos on the silver screen.
The New York International Latino Festival (NYILFF) celebrates its 10th anniversary as the premiere Latino-based film festival in the entire country. This year, NYILFF will debut its latest presentations at the Clearview Chelsea Cinemas on 23rd street, one of the trendiest neighborhoods in New York City.
“We are very excited to celebrate our 10th Anniversary,” says Calixto Chinchilla, Executive Director. “The NYILFF began as a dream project to showcase Latino filmmakers and we’ve grown in size and stature, along with our community. This year, we have in store very exciting premieres, including the New York premiere of La Mission, starring Benjamin Bratt, Jesse Borrego, Erika Alexander, Jeremy Ray Valdez, and Talisa Soto Bratt, which is our Opening Night film.”
La Mission is Writer-Director Peter Bratt's powerful story of a man's journey toward redemption through his struggle with violence and homophobia. The film is produced by Benjamin Bratt, Alpita Patel, and Peter Bratt.
NYILFF takes place between July 28-August 2nd and tickets go on sale July 4th at Clearview Chelsea Cinemas.
