If you haven’t noticed lately, Luis Fonsi is having one amazing year!
We first told you that the singer/songwriter performed for 50,000 fans at over three sold-out shows in his native Puerto Rico. However, that wasn’t enough for the Latin pop star. He then announced that he was touring in major cities, such as Los Angeles, New York City, and Houston. Now, we’re finding out that Fonsi received 13 nominations for Univision’s 6th Annual Premios Juventud Awards.
The award ceremony, which will air live on Thursday, July 16 on Univision, is a youth-themed show which honors the best in music, fashion, film, sports, and pop culture. Not only did Fonsi get nominated for awards, such as “Red Hot Artist” and “Favorite Pop Star,” but he obtained more nominations in the awards’ entire history!
However, Fonsi has some major competition. Former RBD member Dulce Maria received 10 nominations, including for “She’s Got Style.” Reggaeton duo Wisin y Yandel have seven nods, including one for “The Perfect Combo.”

This year, Univision and Premios Juventud will also award scholarships in academics, sports, and music. The winners will be announced live on the show.
