Jennifer Lopez may be a diva, but like any new mother, she goes through the same fears with her twins Max and Emme.
J Lo. will never forget that frightful night when she and husband Marc Anthony discovered a lump on Emme’s head when she was only three weeks old.
"We both got very nervous, very very nervous, and I just remember my heart sinking to my feet," Lopez explains while attending the Noche de Ninos gala benefit for Childrens Hospital in Los Angeles (CHLA). "I looked at Marc and I said, 'You know if anything happens, I'm not going to be okay, you know that right?'"
The couple rushed Emme to Children's Hospital, where she underwent a series of tests, including an MRI. Fortunately, Emme was A-OK. This soon inspired the singer to join forces with CHLA and form the Maribel Foundation to help provide pediatric medical services to the less fortunate.
"I started to wonder, ‘What if I couldn't afford a doctor, or receive the medicines, the procedures?’" she states.
Lopez also debuted a new song at the gala that was dedicated to the twins. A recording of the ballad was played during a video highlighting the Foundation's work. In it, Lopez sings, "Let's keep this time for us and make it last as long as we can. It's already going too fast."
