Christina Aguilera is getting ready for her close-up!
Rumors are going around that the “Dirrty” pop singer wants to star in Burlesque, a Screen Gems film about a modern-day burlesque performer.
According to sources, “Steve Antin not only wrote the original script, but he'll reportedly direct the flick, too. Steve certainly knows about scantily-clad dancers. He's worked on several projects with his sister, Pussycat Dolls impresario Robin Antin.” The studio is also said to be shooting for a January 2010 start date for Burlesque.
Truthfully, we aren’t surprised by Christina’s willingness to be involved with this film. It’s been said that she wanted to star in a movie about the life of Tempest Storm, one of the greatest burlesque performers that has ever grace the stage. Plus, she already nailed the sexy retro persona when she released Back to Basics in 2006!
