Prince may be known for once considering Carmen Electra as his famous muse, but for his new song, he chose to sing about a famous Latina.
Prince’s single “Valentina” is sung to and named after Salma Hayek’s 18-month-old daughter, whom she had with her billionaire husband, French businessman Francois-Henri Pinault. However, Salma’s newfound status as a married woman doesn’t phase The Purple One. Some are even considering his lyrics as a declaration of love.
Prince sings,
"Hey Valentina, tell your mama she should give me a call/ When she get tired of runnin' after you down the hall/And she's all worn out from those late-night feedings/and she's ready for another rock and roll meeting."
He then goes on say how hot Salma is, what amazing curves she has, and why everyone wants to be with her. Obvious, much?
Perhaps Prince developed his crush when Salma directed his music video “Te Amo Corazón,” in 2006. Then again, it also seems that he has a thing for her best friend Penelope Cruz because in the same song he goes on to say, "If Penelope wants to Cruz there ain't no way that we ain't gon' dance." It’s too bad that Penelope is taken by Spanish actor Javier Bardem.
