After making the “George Lopez Show,” a household name, is the Mexican comedian and actor taking a break? Now that’s something to laugh about.

George Lopez will be headlining a new talk show for TBS, which promises to bring back the excitement of late night TV with a street party atmosphere and an energetic crowd.  The program will include visits from celebrity guests, live music performances, and of course, comedy acts from George himself.  He, along with Jim Paratore, the mastermind behind the highly popular “Ellen DeGeneres Show,” are also going to serve as executive producers for the untitled series.

“George Lopez is a special talent, with an everyman appeal that makes him uniquely positioned to be the next great late-night host,” comments Michael Wright, Executive Vice President, Head of Programming for TBS, TNT.

Look out for George’s late night show airing on TBS Mondays-Thursdays at 11PM (ET/PT) in November 2009!
