The "SexyBack" singer just announced plans to release 901, a new tequila brand which took two years to perfect.
According to a release, Justin’s triple-distilled tequila is crafted from a recipe handed down through three generations in Jalisco, Mexico. The line promises to be the "smoothest tequila possible," and is expected to hit stores in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and St. Louis in May.
However, what’s up with its numeric name? "901 is that time of night when your evening is ending, but your night is just beginning. It is also a subtle nod to his hometown," says the singer's spokesperson, referring to the area code for Memphis, where Justin grew up.
We’re a little bit confused by Justin’s sudden interest in selling tequila. It would have made more sense for him to be involved with a brand, like Southern Comfort, which is extremely popular in Memphis.
