Have you ever had a taste of the succulent purple red-berry known as acai, one of the most powerful fruits in the world? For thousands of years, natives of the Amazonian jungles in South America plucked the small crop that’s often compared to tasting like red wine and chocolate. From Brazil to Colombia, people eat acai for breakfast to cure physical pains, increase energy, and to even give a much-needed boost to a weak libido. According to Dr. Nicholas Perricone, the pulp of this berry contains “a remarkable concentration of antioxidants that help combat premature aging.” It’s no wonder that his close friend Oprah Winfrey calls acai a “superfood!”
Although acai isn’t sold in the United States because it quickly spoils, it can be found as a sweet, smooth cocktail served at a top restaurant that can be found in New York City, Miami, Chicago, Tel Aviv, and Las Vegas. SUSHISAMBA, a famous eatery known for their unique menu that draws on the cuisines of Brazil, Peru, and Japan for inspiration, loves to serve patrons the Latin-influenced Samba Juice, a cocktail made with fresh acai puree. With one taste, any delighted drinker will discover their own fountain of youth with some added rum to jumpstart any unforgettable night of passion.
