Grammy winning Havana-born singer Gloria Estefan has officially announced that her upcoming Latin American tour will be her last. The 51-year-old Cuban diva will soon say goodbye to the music industry and hello to retirement.
“It is an end to something that began many years ago, in 1975, and it is a dream to be able to it in Latin America,” she explains.
Leaving with a bang, Gloria’s tour will take her from Uruguay to Argentina before finally landing in Ecuador. However, we can’t help but wonder why she’s choosing to retire now.
According to Gloria, her 14-year-old daughter Emily Marie Estefan, is the reason why she’s retiring.
“These will be the last concerts I do, afterwards I want to focus on my daughter, who is going to high school, and continue working in other areas.”
Despite tackling motherhood, we have a feeling Gloria won’t be bored at home in Miami. The Estefan clan owns eight restaurants and three hotels. Plus, she’s also working on a third book, as well as films.
Gloria’s final tour will begin on April 9 and will end on the 23rd.
How many of you think that Gloria is going to make a “comeback” in a couple of months?
