It’s no surprise that the economy is not just affecting our lives, but also our favorite celebrities, including reggaeton “Gasolina” singer Daddy Yankee.
In support of his album Talento Del Barrrio, Daddy Yankee will begin touring, but it won’t be anything like Big Boss in 2007 where he made stops in every major arena, including Madison Square Garden and American Airlines Arena. This year, he’s tightening his budget and dramatically scaling down where he’ll be heading. Instead of famous stadiums, Daddy Yankee is selecting small, intimate theaters, such as Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. Is Daddy Yankee watching his expenses or is the Puerto Rican rapper losing popularity?
The answer is yes to both.
According to sources, Daddy Yankee’s 2007 Madison Square Garden show in New York City was half empty, causing him to lose more dinero than what he should have been earning. Looks like El Cangrí now has to make up for lost cash and win fans over by getting up close and personal. Of course, it would also help if he had another memorable hit single.
