Lin-Manuel Miranda Leaves the Heights

After hundreds of performances and a TONY, award-winning composer and In the Heights star Lin-Manuel Miranda has taken his final bow.  His last performance was scheduled on February 15.

Lin-Manuel, who co-wrote the musical on Manhattan’s Washington Heights neighborhood, has been widely celebrated for bringing a Latino voice with some added salsa flair to the brightly-lit stages of Broadway.  No casting has been announced for his replacement, but many are already stating that his understudy will take over.

Despite the sad news, this won’t be the last time we will hear about the Boricua actor and playwright.  He’s already busy collaborating on an updated version of the musical Working, adding Spanish lyrics to the new Broadway revival of West Side Story, and preparing the film version of In the Heights

We hope to see more of Lin-Manuel on stage soon!
