Rapper 50 Cent may be busy working with Dr. Dre and Eminem on his upcoming album, Before I Self Destruct, but that didn’t stop him from visiting his Latin fans. Last Saturday, 50 flew to Caracas, Venezuela for a surprise performance with reggaeton duo Wisin y Yandel. Daddy Yankee and Enrique Iglesias were also there to perform at the two day music fest.
"The excitement about being in Venezuela is tremendous, to see the music break the language barrier-and the opportunity to do that in an area where actually they're the bigger artist," says 50 Cent to MTV News.
50, along with G-Unit members Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks, surprised 40,000 screaming fans and performed the official remix of “Rider Pt. 2” titled “Asi Soy.”
MTV News reported that this isn’t the first time that 50 has helped out his Latin buddies. He united with Wisin y Yandel last summer at Madison Square Garden for their sold-out show during the Puerto Rican Day Parade weekend in New York City. In addition, they also have plans to work together on Wisin y Yandel’s next album.
"We're working with 50 Cent on a song called, ‘Mujeres En El Club,’ says the reggaeton group . "It would be a dream come true. Not just for us, but for reggaeton. It would be huge."
First Eminem collaborated with Calle 13 and now 50 Cent united with Wisin y Yandel? Who do you think will be the next musical sensation to crossover?
