Locos Por Juana (Latin Urban Orquestra) is starting their new year right with their recent Grammy nomination for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album for the hit album La Verdad.  Plus, just days before the awards, Locos Por Juana was asked to perform in Los Angeles on February 5th at the newly reopened Conga Room.  The band has also been invited to play at the widely celebrated New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival (Jazzfest) on April 26th.

Locos Por Juana, one of the few Latin bands that uses elements of rock, hip hop, reggae, and ska, has a fan base that goes beyond their native Miami.  Earlier last year, the band was selected by iTunes as one of the 15 most important artists to watch for in 2008.  Since then, they’ve exploded on music charts, achieving the opportunity to possibly win the most prestigious music award.

Between additional dates in Miami (as headliner of the Carnival on the Mile-March 7 & 8) and an April 26th performance on the Congo Stage of New Orleans’ famed Jazz & Heritage Festival, Locos Por Juana plans to begin work on their fourth album.

We’ll keep you posted on Locos Por Juana’s possible Grammy win, as well as their upcoming album!
