Eduardo Verástegui is Fighting Abortion

Eduardo Verástegui sure knows how to get the media’s attention and it doesn’t always involve his tall, dark, and handsome looks.

The Chasing Papi star has sparked controversy over voting for Republican Presidential candidate John McCain and making a public statement against gay marriage, disappointing hundreds of his fans.  The openly gay gossip blogger Perez Hilton even expressed outrage over the hunky Mexican actor, announcing that Verástegui is discriminating against other gay Latinos hoping to legally get married.

The heartthrob may be considered public enemy number one, but it’s no surprise that his religious beliefs, as with many others celebrities, have something to do with it.  Verástegui, who is a conservative Catholic, continues to speak his mind by teaming up with Spain’s DerechoaVivir.org and its English language counterpart, RighttoLife.org.  According to Verástegui,

“As you know, I have stepped out on the front lines because I want to do everything I can to defend the lives of the most defenseless human beings, the unborn; because I want to support women with unexpected pregnancies; because I want to help end the silent holocaust of the 21st century, which is abortion.”

Love him or hate him, Verástegui isn’t afraid to bare it all and isn’t that the reason why so many women and gay men get weak in the knees for him?

Here’s a throwback of Verástegui at his finest.

Keep up the good work! I know our view is not popular, but it is important that our opinion is heard. May the Lord bless your commitment.
