Maria, what have you gotten yourself into?!
Model Maria Florencia Onori has become famous overnight by posing nude for the Mexican edition of Playboy. So what’s the 
problem? Well, Maria is seen standing in front of a stained glass window with the cover line, “We Love You, Maria” in Spanish….oh yeah, she also appears to be looking a little bit too much like the Virgin of Guadalupe. Plus, the issue was published only days before a major Mexican festival dedicated to the mother of Jesus. OK, start panicking.
After many protested the controversial cover, Playboy was forced to apologize.
"While Playboy Mexico never meant for the cover or images to offend anyone, we recognize that it has created offense, and we as well as Playboy Mexico offer our sincerest apologies," says an official statement from the magazine.
Raul Sayrols, Publisher of Playboy Mexico, explains that, "The image is not and never was intended to portray the Virgin of Guadalupe or any other religious figure. The intent was to reflect a Renaissance-like mood on the cover."
It’s safe to say that this is one present many would prefer seeing wrapped up.
