This may not come as a shocker to some, but the 17-time Latin Grammy Winner was recently selected as Colombia’s “Most 
Influential Person.”
According to Colombia’s leading newspaper El Tiempo:
“Juanes, as an icon, has gone far, very far. If you don’t believe us, just ask those who withstood the freezing temperatures just to gather around the Olympic stadium of Moscow and hear his songs last September. His name is now a legend, one of those icons recognized in any part of the globe and which you identify from afar. Juanes’ life has been a constant struggle to make the world see that musicians of this continent aren’t just thinking about selling records and accumulating money in the bank. Even the Chinese recognize this Paisa on a street of Shanghai, and the most important papers always have room to talk about his achievements.” (Translated)
Personally, we would have voted for Juanes to be awarded “sexiest Latin rocker,” but that’s just us.
